ECO-Schools

Our Eco-Schools programme aims to promote environmental awareness of the entire school. An awareness of the environment and a pride in our school and community is an important part of our school ethos. In Lisnasharragh Primary our Eco Committee is led by Mrs Armstrong and the Eco Committee is made up of a number of children from P4-7.

Our P7 ‘Litter Picking Team’ were joined by the rest of their classmates this month to tidy up the school grounds after the Easter break. We monitor the litter in our school each month and provide this data to the Eco Committee to see where any hot spots for littering are occurring. Well done to all the pupils who took part, we hope to soon complete a litter pick in the surrounding community!

We are a Green Flag Eco School!

Lisnasharragh Primary School has been enjoying great Eco success! We are proud holders of the prestigious Green Flag Award. This gives us official Eco-School status and confirms that the children and the staff at Lisnasharragh are concerned about ecological issues within the school and the surrounding area.

The Eco Schools Assessors said, "There are many activities going on and lots of enthusiasm is evident. The school is very strong regarding recycling. All children and staff are involved. The school is very creative and displays originality with some of the ideas including eco snitches, monster box, eco mascot and eco songs. There are never ending strengths."

We have now received our third Green Flag award!
